What is a gift in Raiser’s Edge?
Gift types are pre-determined in The Raiser’s Edge so users are unable to remove, modify, or add gift types. If you would like to include additional information for the type of gift being added, create a gift subtype. Gifts can be added manually, in a gift batch, or through Import.
What must a gift record include before you can save it?
Fund records: Description and Fund ID. Gift Records: Gift Type, Gift Date, Gift Amount (Value for Stock/Property and Gift-in-Kind gifts), Fund Description, Post Date, Post Status.
How do you batch a gift in Raiser’s Edge?
One-time gifts in a batch without recurring gifts
- From Batch, select New Gift Batch.
- From the Fields tab, select Load from Existing Batch and select the template you created.
- Select Data Entry.
- Add gifts until the batch is complete.
- If applicable, charge the cards.
- Commit the gift batch.
What is a gift batch?
With batches, you can quickly add multiple gift records together as a group. For example, you can enter a batch of the week’s one-time gifts paid by check. You can save batches in progress, such as to return to it and continue adding gift details later.
Why would you adjust a gift?
An adjustment will keep track of the previous gift information (amount, appeal, fund, campaign, and package) and will generate the correcting entries to update the General Ledger. If the initial gift has already been posted to the General Ledger, then a gift adjustment is needed to make changes.
